Carpooling Is Key! – The more people in one vehicle the fewer cars at the venue and more options for parking
Designated Driver – Is one of your friends or family members keen to be a deso for the night? Ask around or better yet, make the offer yourself! Then, carpool. If you do elect to be a deso, remember you’re in charge of getting your mate’s home safely so stay responsible 😊
Organise a lift – Goes hand-in hand wth the deso driver option. Is there someone from home, staying sober, who can you drop you off and pick you up?
Stay at a mate’s place – Do friends or family live in or near Glenorie? Are you carpooling from elsewhere? Staying at a mate’s place means that your deso, taxi, or Uber will only have to go to one place, and that will reduce your getting home costs.
Organise a Private Driver – There are a few private drivers in the area who offer pre-booked lifts. Here are some below but a good place to look for ones from your local area is by searching ‘driver’ or ‘uber’ in any local community pages.
Pre-Book an Uber – https://www.uber.com/au/en/ride/how-it-works/reserve/, download the Uber app or call 13-UBER (13 82 37)
Call a Taxi – We all know taxis can be a bit hit and miss in Glenorie, just in case you can also pre-book these. Some taxis, maxi taxis, and bus companies are linked below.
Book a Bus – Do you have a lot of friends coming and want to make a fun night out of it? Have you considered booking a bus? We always used to book buses when going into the city and it made it such a fun and easy experience, why not organise one for a more local gig too? There are some local bus companies listed below. The best thing about this is that it’s a very affordable option per head, and they can both drop you at the venue and pick you up at a designated time. You just have to round up your crew and get to the bus at the designated time after the event.
*These are suggestions only. If you have any issues with the transport you choose for the night, Glenorie RSL takes no responsibility for the options listed. Make sure you have a Plan B if your first plan falls through.
